Snibston Discovery Museum is one of Leicester’s highlights, for both children and adults. The museum is a fully interactive (and very hands on) exploration of technological innovation and in particular, how technology and industry has developed over the years.
Visitors can view some of the earliest mining tools, check out the inner workings of a prototype jet engine and even enjoy a stroll through the museum’s extensive fashion display, one of the largest of its kind outside of London.
Children are actively encouraged to get really hands on with the exhibits, to discover more about the technology and design that has helped shape the country. It’s a great opportunity for them to have fun and get active, whilst learning about some of the most important historical developments in engineering and industry over the last 500 years.
There are also outside play areas and a wonderful country park; perfect for a pleasant stroll after some serious exploration in the museum!
